The Frisbee East Africa Sand Tournament (FEAST) was born in 2009 out of a vision to bring together ultimate players from across East Africa in a unique, festive setting. What started as a small gathering of passionate athletes on the beaches of Kenya has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated disc sport events.
Early Beginnings: The first editions of FEAST were informal, community‑driven tournaments held on Kenya’s coastal sands. They emphasized Spirit of the Game, camaraderie, and the joy of playing barefoot on the beach.
Regional Growth: Over the years, FEAST attracted teams from Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and beyond, becoming a true East African showcase of talent and solidarity.
Festival Identity: Unlike traditional tournaments, FEAST embraced a festival atmosphere — blending competitive matches with music, art, and cultural exchange. This unique identity set it apart and made it a highlight of the regional sports calendar.
Youth Engagement: Each edition introduced clinics and workshops for young players, ensuring that FEAST was not only about competition but also about building pathways for the next generation.
Continental Recognition: With support from federations and partners, FEAST has become a recognized platform for promoting disc sport in Africa, inspiring similar sand tournaments in other regions.
The 2026 edition at Kingo Beach, Diani marks a new milestone. It will be the largest FEAST yet, with sanctioning from All Africa Flying Disc Federation, structured competition, and a stronger focus on youth leadership. Building on its history, FEAST 2026 aims to showcase East Africa’s growth in disc sport while keeping the festival spirit alive.
